Natarajan Chidambaram

R&T Scientist at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology

About

Natarajan is a researcher in the field of AI for Software Engineering. Currently, working as an R&T Scientist at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology. His research activities involve developing SOTA personalised AI agents using BAF in the context of Chat4EFL (an Erasmus+ project), leveraging the usage of LLMs in education, mining software repositories (MSR), empirical software engineering, and collaborative contribution to low-code and no-code modeling in BESSER projects. His other interests span over Generative AI, Reinforcement learning, Data science and MLOps.

He obtained his Doctorate in Computer Science (PhD) from the Department of Computer Science at University of Mons (UMONS), Belgium, and received his Master's degree in Data Science in Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. He is also a member in the TRusted AI Labs (TRAIL), Belgium.

During his PhD, his research was focussed on improving bot identification in GitHub, detecting them based on their activity sequences and enhancing software engineering practices. He relied on AI techniques to develop various models that detect bots in GitHub, which inculuded an open-source CLI tool that researchers and practitioners use to reliably detect bots in GitHub at scale. In TRAIL, his research lied in Active Learning, semi supervised learning and generating synthetic images using Stable Diffusion with ControlNet.
